Three Plans
Puma, Richard and Mamadou, three Able & Willing board members, had experiences with growing Moringa before they all met together with Jim Carpenter, another board member in May of 2012. Their frustrations with avoidable failures dissipated as they planned new approaches with the assistance of Edward Rau, a biologist at NIH and founder of Sustainable Bio resources in Frederick, Maryland.
They met together for three months to develop plans for growing, harvesting, and processing Moringa plants and marketing Moringa products. It became clear that there was no single plan. They developed three distinctive plans for Congo, Mali and Cameroon, each based on available resources and conditions.
